Thoughts To Think On #3

Thought 3

You need to have a funeral for your past. Invite everyone that knows about your past and preach the eulogy. Dig the grave and bury it. You can’t live forward while dragging your past with you. It will not work. It is like trying to drive to a destination while looking in the rear view mirror. You will never make it! It is time to leave the past in the rear view mirror and focus forward.

Question: What do you need to have a funeral and bury from your past so you can totally move forward with your vision? Leave a comment below.

I like this concept. I’ve heard of people writing down their problems and burning them before – which to me seems similar. It’s the idea of having a formal ceremony where you move on from your past. I’ll have to think of what I need to have a funeral for, though. Very intriguing.

I had a funeral and buried some of the fears from my past.

This is a great concept and and i talk about it in my purpose discovery course (the eulogy) I think understanding how we want to to be remembered at the end of our lives can give us clarity about our present. It reminds us of what we need to let go of and how to reach to a greater future.

I got this concept from a seminar that I attended. The facilitator had us to write what we want our eulogy to say when we are gone. It was a very eye opening experience. Doing that exercise opened my eyes to some things I had to leave in the past if I wanted my life to match the eulogy I was writing. I want to use your recent post (The Simple Life: Keeping priorities) in my upcoming ezine. It was very powerful and it would be great for my readers to read it.

I once wrote down all the problems and obstacles ftom my past, climbed a mountain and set the notes on fire. It was cathartic moment for moving forward.

JB, that had to be awesome.

Short and powerful post. I think the reason why people are held back is because of past issues or mistakes.

    • Bernard Haynes

I agree. Past issues keep a lot of people in bondage.

        They sure can.
