We live in a society that is bombarded by pessimism. The twenty-four hour in your face news media constantly feed us negative and depressing news. We are surrounded by people that think and speak negatively. Some of the experiences we encounter leave us with a pessimistic perception of life. Procrastination is the biggest hurdle that I had to overcome in pursuing my vision. I prayed about it, talked about it, listened to encouraging messages for inspiration and received wise counsel from mentors, but I continued to struggle with procrastination.
I had great ideas of things I wanted to do. I wrote them down. I shared them with my wife and everyone that would listen.
I remember telling my wife about a project I wanted to do. When I finished telling her my detail vision, she looked at me and said in her southern vernacular, “You are always “fittin” to do something.” I shrugged it off at first, but as I thought about what she said, it hit me, she was right.
I sat down and began to write everything I said I was going to do or projects that I had started, but never finished. After I finished, I had eight things on my list. [Read more…]

I have struggled with various fears over the course of my life. The fear of failure kept me from pursuing my dream of writing. The fear of rejection kept me from allowing people to get close enough to know my heart.
The fear of what other’s might say or think kept me from presenting my material to the world. The fear of things not being perfect kept me procrastinating to the point that I produced nothing. I can list several more fears, but I am going to keep this post short and stop at four. [Read more…]

Have you placed limits on what is possible in your life? If you have, it is time to take the limits off what God can do in and through your life.
You are limited, but God is unlimited. You are finite, but God’s power is infinite. You must be willing to say “yes” to God’s vision continually, not when you “feel” like it or when everything is going your way.
What is fear?
Fear is an uneasy emotion that can cause you to worry about feeling incapable or helpless. It is a trigger that goes off in your mind when you feel threatened or inadequate. Fear is a major obstacle you must overcome to take the limits off living your vision. [Read more…]
